Erykah Badu is facing some negativity following a controversial interview with Vulture she gave recently.
The iconic R&B singer shared some quite surprising thoughts on people, saying that she can see the good in everybody, including the notorious Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
After her remark about the positive traits of Hitler, the shocked interviewer David Marchese asked her to elaborate further on the answer. Erykah then explained that the infamous historical figure was a remarkable painter and had to go through a terrible childhood.
Badu even admitted that the hardships in Hitler’s early life prompted her to imagine what the life of her own daughter, Mars, would be like if she had to face such troubles during childhood.
Erykah’s reasoning for her words was that her astrological sign was Pisces, as if would this was enough of an explanation.
The singer, whose real name is Erica Abi Wright, also talked about the scandal surrounding Bill Cosby.
She expressed her great admiration for the disgraced comedian, stating that she loves what he has done for the world.
Erykah explained that she is trying not to judge Cosby, although a few dozen women have claimed to have suffered sexual misconduct from him.
This is not the first time that the legendary musician has strongly expressed her opinions in public.
Two years ago, Badu received some serious backlash for criticizing the short length of the skirts worn by many girls for being a distraction to their teachers.
Another example of Erykah’s controversial beliefs was the reference to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, present in one of her music videos.
People are in real pain. So I understand why my 'good' intent was misconstrued as 'bad'. In trying to express a point, I used 1 of the worst examples possible, Not to support the cruel actions of an unwell, psychopathic Adolf Hitler, but to only exaggerate a show of compassion.

Either U read the entire VULTURE interview & U understood the message of compassion CLEARLY.
OR U only read the selective, out of context Headlines, & were drawn in2 the whirlpool of collective emotional grief. I don't want 2 force U 2understand the way I love. I'm hopeful tho.— ErykahBadoula (@fatbellybella) January 25, 2018
Voicing honest opinions (even if they are meant to be loving) in such a sensitive world where most of us are victims of some violent past is very dangerous. Even encouraging words can be misinterpreted when taken out of context. Human beings are very delicate. Protect one another
